Behind the Scenes of Taipei Dome MEP Engineering — Powering a National-Level Venue

The Taipei Dome is one of Taiwan's most iconic large-scale public constructions. As a sports venue capable of hosting tens of thousands of spectators, its MEP system requirements far exceed those of typical buildings. Shi-He Intelligent had the privilege of participating in the core electrical infrastructure of this national-level project.

How complex is the Taipei Dome's MEP system?

The entire venue encompasses 15 electrical rooms and 4 substations. It is not just the quantity that matters — every node must feature redundancy in its design. During a live sporting event, any power interruption could affect the safety of tens of thousands of spectators, which is absolutely unacceptable.

Our design adopts an N+1 redundancy architecture, where any supply path failure triggers automatic switchover to backup systems within milliseconds, ensuring venue operations remain completely unaffected.

Automated power monitoring system

In a venue of this scale, relying on manual inspection of electrical equipment is neither practical nor safe. We introduced an automated power monitoring system that monitors voltage, current, power factor, and other key parameters in every electrical room in real time.

The system issues early warnings before anomalies occur, allowing maintenance teams to intervene proactively and minimize equipment failure risks. This monitoring architecture also reserves expansion interfaces for future EMS energy management upgrades.

The highest standards in fire safety regulation

Fire safety requirements for large public venues are extremely stringent. All our construction materials comply with the latest fire regulations and international standards. Cables use the highest fire-resistance ratings, and distribution panels feature complete fire compartment designs, providing rock-solid electrical safety for the venue.

What did this project teach us?

The Taipei Dome project allowed our team to accumulate invaluable experience in high-spec MEP integration. From redundancy design and automated monitoring to strict fire safety standards, these capabilities have since been applied to our factory energy-saving retrofits and EMS system deployments, becoming one of Shi-He Intelligent's core competitive advantages.
